At Hicks Law, we strive to make the law accessible to each client. You won't meet with an attorney and leave more confused than when you arrived. We strive to educate you and communicate regularly so you are fully aware of the status of your matter. We will work with you every step of the way to make sure that you understand the choices you are making and feel empowered to make them.
Geraldine "Gheri" Hicks is the founder of Hicks Law, P.A. Gheri holds a Bachelor's of Arts from Florida A & M University (1993), a Juris Doctor from University of Miami (2000), and a Masters of Laws in Transnational Law from Temple University (2005). In nearly 25 years of practicing law, Gheri has represented governmental entities, such as Polk County, Florida and the City of Dallas, Texas in a variety of real estate matters including code enforcement, land use, foreclosures, and eminent domain. While earning her LL.M. in Japan, Gheri worked for a Japanese law firm where she helped corporate clients with commercial leasing matters. Gheri, however, started her career working at legal aid as a AmeriCorps Housing Attorney, where her job was to help protect her clients' homes from foreclosure or eviction and educate people on their housing rights. It is this desire to help others that motivates Gheri. As a former university adjunct professor, Gheri has the heart of a teacher and that translates whether she is teaching Business Law students, conducting a seminar for her church on legacy planning, or having a consultation with a client. She is a licensed attorney in Florida (2000) and has an inactive license in Texas (2008). Gheri is a Plant City native and the proud mother of two adorable children.
